CBD is the buzz word on everyone’s lips right now, but what’s its deal? Cannabidiol or CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in both the hemp and cannabis plants. Unlike the other main cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD isn’t going to get you high and leave you with a serious case of the munchies.
Everywhere you seem to look these days people are selling CBD infused vape juice, CBD drinks and foods, CBD ointments and topicals and just about anything else you could imagine. From anxiety to arthritis, everyone is turning to CBD products. Despite how popular CBD is becoming, there is still quite a lot of confusion out there about what CBD is, how CBD works and how CBD could help you.
Despite how popular CBD is becoming, there is still quite a lot of confusion out there about what CBD is, how CBD works and how CBD could help you.
LearWhat’s the Difference Between CBD from Hemp and CBD from Cannabis?
The cannabis sativa plant has two main varieties, marijuana and hemp. Both species contain CBD, but hemp plants have a much higher percentage of CBD and an almost non-existent level of THC. CBD products which are made from hemp usually have less than .3% THC.
If you hear the term ‘hemp oil’ it’s usually in reference to oil which is made from CBD seeds. This almost always contains no CBD or THC. It is packed full of healthy ingredients, but CBD isn’t usually one of them. It's important to ensure that you’re getting what you pay for and not a cleverly labeled product which is designed to deceive you.
What Are Some of the Potential Health Benefits of CBD?
There is currently only one CBD medication that has full FDA approval. It’s called Epidiolex, and it’s used as a treatment for very rare and severe forms of epilepsy. People around the world are claiming that CBD could be an effective treatment for conditions such as cancer, back, and joint pain, mental health conditions such as anxiety, sleep issues, pain management, and osteoarthritis just to name a few.
There is still a substantial amount of research and study which needs to be done into the full health benefits of CBD, but early studies on mice are looking very promising. Always speak to your doctor or healthcare professional before switching any of your medications or starting a new one. Learn even more at www.cbdsnapshot.com

I am not surprised at all that the blog I did last week on self tanning was one of the most popular that I have ever published. So many of my friends are afraid of self tanning and for good reason. When it goes wrong it goes SO very wrong. Fear not, there are simple ways to prepare and great products to try.
WARNING - the FakeBake product I am recommending below is a very serious stain because it really works on the skin, please use gloves, no kidding.
Flawless Self-tanning: Step-by-step Guide and Our Pick for the Perfect Bronze Glow
Since winter is officially behind us, it’s time to get your skin ready to nail all those tank tops and sun dresses. Achieving a flawless faux glow at home can be challenging if you’re not sure about which self-tanning formula to use and how to use it. But we’ve got you covered with choosing the best product and a step-by-step guide for getting a seamless, sun-kissed skin from head to toe.
Step 1: Scrub and Smooth
A proper self-tanning starts with a clean, well-exfoliated skin because the product can sink into dry and rough skin, leaving unnatural dark or orange patches. Always prepare your skin by sloughing away the dead skin buildup if you want an even and long-lasting tan. Spend a little more time exfoliating drier, thicker area like knees, elbows, and ankles. Dry your skin thoroughly after exfoliation and apply an oil-free moisturizer, focusing on your dry spots. It’s also important to get your waxing, shaving, and manicure at least 24 hours before the treatment as they can remove the self-tanner. A smooth and clear canvas will help to prevent patchiness.
Step 2: Choose Your Formula
The next step is choosing your tanning product. It can be confusing with so many formulas available on the market. Fret not! Here’s our pick to help you get the perfect faux glow.
Fake Bake Flawless Coconut Tanning Serum for Face & BodyHere’s why it should be your go-to tanning product:
Step 3: Application
Now that you have picked a perfect tanning product, the next step is to make sure the application goes smoothly. Apply the product in sections, starting at your legs, then torso, arms, followed by your face (save hands and feet for last). Dispense enough product and massage smoothly into your skin in circular motions. To ensure even application and prevent stained palms, it is essential to use tanning mitts, like:
Golden Star Beauty Self-Tanning Mitt Kit
This exfoliating and tanning kit includes:
The last step while applying your self-tanner is to give your skin time to dry for at least ten minutes or stand in front of a fan, slowly rotating for five minutes. That's how long color takes to set. Wear loose clothing and avoid sweating for the next three hours, and you’re good to glow.
Step 4: Maintain It
Now that you’ve got yourself bronzed, the trick is keeping it even and long-lasting. Apply a light tanning lotion every few days to reinforce your tan and prevent it from fading too quickly. Use a moisturizer every day after showering and pat your skin dry with a towel after bathing to prevent rubbing off your tan. Keep exfoliating lightly every few days to keep the tan fade evenly.
I cut 7" off my hair and decided to get it cut shoulder length. I wore it up in a bun 90% of the time and was going back into an office after 17 years at home. What I saw after the cut was I had damaged hair in the front that was struggling. My hair grows ridiculously fast but I wanted the look without the wait.
I could not explain or show you any better than this post I love. We share so many of the same thoughts. Enjoy!
Tape in favorites here https://amzn.to/2DNIcml - these are the 16" but I am now using the 14". The colors are great, they are so easy to put in and take out (be sure to buy remover and Sally's has a great one). If you try on your own, make sure you flat iron them at the glue point. They last longer and stay in place.
Clip in favorites here https://www.zalahair.com/hair-extensions/clip-in-hair-extensions/ - Take to your stylist and he/she can put them in for you and trim them so when you do at home they look natural.
While self-tanning products are the heaven-sent for us to look like a bronzed goddess, the whole routine is tricky to get done and you’ll run into a risk of streaks or worse, looking like an orange. Don’t worry, we got you covered and show you what to do and products to buy for a smooth, bronzey-looking skin.
What To Do Before Self-Tanning (And Avoid Streaks!)
For a start, choosing the right type and formula are the key to ensure that the tanning process goes as smoothly as expected. There are different types of self-tanners that you can try, and you might want to purchase different types for different body areas.
Before tanning the skin, make sure that any other process involving the skin is taken care of, and that includes shaving and/or waxing, or perhaps a manicure. These treatments will remove the self-tanners, creating uneven tanning application.
Prior application, exfoliate the skin thoroughly from the head to toe, to purge off flakes and dead skin cells away for a smooth, flawless skin.
Now you can start tanning with some of the self-tanning products I highly recommend for you to try. Keep in mind to take some time applying this product to ensure a smooth, gradual tan that you desired; spare a couple of hours just to be safe.
St.Tropez Self Tan Express Bronze Mousse
St. Tropez is no stranger to self-tanning products and the brand amazed us again with St.Tropez Self Tan Express Bronze Mousse. The mousse formula that’s airy and develops the tan on your skin in just one hour (quicker with other brands) with a light sheen of glow, and progresses to deep tan in three hours.
L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk
I call this a self-tanner for beginners. L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk is light lotion and diluted just enough to provide the lightest tan, and you can build the intensity until the desired tan. You can use the lotion as either a subtle, effortless tan, or as a backup to even out patches caused by fading of other tanning products.
St Tropez Gradual Tan Watermelon Infusion Moisture Miracle Lotion
Another amazing St. Tropez product, the Gradual Tan Watermelon Infusion Moiure Miracle Lotion lightly tans your skin with a buildable coverage and intensity. Plus, the lotion is also formulated with hyaluronic acid - the must-have ingredient for summer - for a supple and (intensely) hydrated sun-kissed skin.
